California Virtual Guide is a guide to the golden state of California. The state is one of the most visited travel destinations in the world. This guide covers the state of California from the beaches to the deserts, from Southern California to the Central Coast, from the San Francisco to the North Coast, and from Shasta County to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

California offers many locations to explore including; mountains, deserts and beaches. Several activites that are popular thoughout the state include; boating, biking, bird watching, hiking, rafting, rock climbing, swimming, skiing, and surfing. California also has several wine regions such as the Napa Valley which is one of the most popular places to visit in the state.

The state also has a several National and State Parks including Yosemite National Park whch is known for its spectacular granite cliffs and the Humboldt Redwoods State Park which is famous for its coastal redwoods.

Chinese New Year in San Francisco

San Francisco will celebrate Chinese New Year 2010 with the largest Chinese New Year Parade outside of Asia. It happens on February 27.

Destination Hideways in California

Sometimes you just want to get away, settle in a nice spot and not worry about things for a couple of days. Other times, you find a place that's so nice you don't want to leave.

For cozy romantic getaways or Valentine's Day trysts, we've discovered the best places for "nesting" in Southern California or Northern California. Most have spas and restaurants on premises or nearby, all have beautiful views and comfortable rooms. Some have pools and other amenities. Don't blame us if you don't want to come home at the end of your stay.
