California Virtual Guide is a guide to the golden state of California. The state is one of the most visited travel destinations in the world. This guide covers the state of California from the beaches to the deserts, from Southern California to the Central Coast, from the San Francisco to the North Coast, and from Shasta County to the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
California offers many locations to explore including; mountains, deserts and beaches. Several activites that are popular thoughout the state include; boating, biking, bird watching, hiking, rafting, rock climbing, swimming, skiing, and surfing. California also has several wine regions such as the Napa Valley which is one of the most popular places to visit in the state.
The state also has a several National and State Parks including Yosemite National Park whch is known for its spectacular granite cliffs and the Humboldt Redwoods State Park which is famous for its coastal redwoods.

Magnificent Kings Canyon is only open in the summer, from mid-May through mid-November. It's part of Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park, which boasts spectacular scenery and the biggest giant sequoias - and is far less crowded than Yosemite.
